"Before the end of that election, both candidates will be destroyed," said Senator Bob Leeper (I-2nd District), speaking of the December 8th Special Election in the 14th Senatorial District. Leeper, who has served in the Kentucky Senate for 19 years and is the only politician in Kentucky history to successfully defend his legislative seat as Democrat, Republican, AND an Independent, shared his thoughts with about 25 activists from the McCracken County Grassroots Group on Monday night. The Chairman of the powerful Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee continued by saying that he expects the race to get dirty, citing the recent special election between Democrat Robin Webb and Republican Jack Ditty in the 18th District as an example of what is to come.
